Tuesday Newsday: Covid-19 Update 5/26

Tuesday Newsday, May 26, 2020
Ave Maria Home, in conjunction with our sister facility, St. Clare Health and Rehab, continues to monitor the always changing situation with COVID-19. We continue to follow the recommendations from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as well as from the CDC. Also, we continue to provide love and concern for our residents.
Per regulatory guidance, Ave Maria Home tested all residents and staff for COVID-19. Two weeks ago, we had 21 residents from our entire campus test positive, but those residents were a-symptomatic. Only two staff members tested positive, and were scheduled to be off until they were able to return to work. All our residents continue to be in isolation in their individual apartments and/or rooms. Yesterday, we re-tested those 21 elders and the two staff and are awaiting the results. Again, no one on the Ave Maria campus has any signs or symptoms of the COVID virus.
This continues to be a difficult time for everyone. Our staff are working diligently to keep our residents healthy by taking all the necessary precautions. We are in communication with the Shelby County Health Department and will continue to be as long as needed. We continue to allow window visits for immediate family members, but again, no one is allowed inside the main building or in any of our Green Houses® Homes on our campus.
If we can answer any questions, do not hesitate to contact us at 901-701-5999. Ave Maria continues to take all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Sincerely,
Frank J. Gattuso, Jr.
Chief Executive Officer
